Senior Credit Analyst

Position Overview:


Overall Purpose: The Senior Credit Analyst is a key role for the Credit Center of Excellence (CCOE) team at Terex.  The Senior Analyst will be responsible for assessing and advising on creditworthiness of prospective and existing customers in the Americas, as well as recommending the appropriate credit lines.  This team-member will also be responsible for contributing to the development and maintenance of the policies, underwriting procedures, information, and tools required to evaluate, approve and manage trade credit risk.  The Senior Analyst will support credit team-members in Global Business Services (GBS), our shared services operations centers, and will also take appropriate action to recover overdue payments.



  • Leads the ongoing development of the Credit Center of Excellence at Terex, with a primary focus on the large and complex credit relationships in the Americas.
  • Minimizes bad-debt write-offs by accurately assessing new or existing customer's credit worthiness in relation to credit policy.
  • Establish customer credit limits that appropriately balance the risks and rewards of transactions and relationships.
  • Prepare credit summaries, reports and analysis on payment performance, credit exposures, credit limits and key credit metrics for presentation to management.
  • Resolves complex problems where analysis of financial and credit situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors including financial analysis, country analysis, competitor payment analysis, T&C contract negotiations and portfolio / customer linkage analysis.
  • Evaluates adherence to credit policy, validation of reporting and ongoing assessment of credit policy effectiveness.
  • Escalates customer AR issues to internal partners.
  • Partners with sales support, customer service and accounts receivable in reconciling accounts.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of credit policies, procedures and underwriting standards based on best practices, internal/external control standards and compliance requirements.
  • Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of automated tools, such as credit scoring models. 
  • Shares best practices and information within the credit community including credit professionals in the Center of Excellence, GBS and Terex Financial Services (TFS).
  • Manages workouts and payment plans for large past due customers in collaboration with internal legal, commercial and operations personnel.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of credit experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in large organizations
  • Experience working within a large, multi-national company serving commercial customers
  • Degree in in Finance, Economics or Accounting
  • Experience working in the industrial, capital goods or heavy equipment manufacturing sectors
  • Strong partnering skills with commercial, finance and operations teams
  • Process management experience with proficiency in process improvement
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems



  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.



  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20%.
