Position Description

The IT Business Relationship Manager – Terex Watertown will be responsible for aligning and delivering information technology capabilities to achieve customer and business objectives for Terex Watertown. It is a key role for the future growth and digitalization within the Watertown management.

S/he will be a member of the VP IT Cranes leadership team and  act as a driver, responsible for the transformation of IT into an enterprise-enabling partner for Terex Watertown business . This will include close collaboration and interaction with the Watertown  General Management as a trusted business partner.

Understanding the business needs, the leader must align the company business requirements with the transformation of the enterprise-wide IT to drive the simplification and harmonization of our IT architecture. This includes consolidation and harmonization of ERPs, evaluation and implementation of an enterprise wide CRM with the goal to eliminate redundant and competing applications in the portfolio. The leader will be accountable to the Cranes IT and Watertown management for all IT planning and execution the IT lifecycle even if the solutions are delivered through a peer IT function like corporate infrastructure services.


S/he will act as the strategic interface between all business departments in Watertown and related sites for business and IT development, solution discovery and evaluation, service, risk and relationship management, serving as a partner from IT for the Business.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provides strategic and process consulting, support and guidance regarding key IT initiatives.
  • Support VP IT to create and execute the Cranes segment roadmap.
  • Communicates decisions, priorities, and project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects, changes and initiatives.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact advisor for the business in all IT related topics.
  • Recruiting, developing and retaining high quality talents; support the culture of accountability and transparency among the IT team; providing hands-on leadership for day-to-day activities of his/her IT organization.
  • Conducts the process of positioning IT services and capabilities.
  • Advises in delivering products and services as value all business partners.
  • Delivers strategic value by providing significant visible support to business units.
  • Facilitates business changes using state of the art  technology.
  • Enables business goal achievement through the effective and efficient use of technology. 
  • Responsible for IT spend as it relates to the business unit.
  • Define, plan and implement process improvements at Watertown site.
  • Successfully delivering business critical systems on time, quality and budget, ensuring that the needs and expectations of business leaders and users are met
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with Infrastructure & Service Delivery teams, as well as in the wider Terex IT organization.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Minimum 10+ years of information technology experiences coupled with a minimum of 6 years leadership experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant experience with global ERP application (Oracle business suite).
  • Has an in-depth knowledge and experience in sourcing, manufacturing and engineering business along the whole supply chain.
  • IT responsibilities across operational and financial and domains of the business.
  • Experience supporting projects with business users and IS/IT components.
  • Leading smaller teams in the area of application management.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards in project management and development methodologies.
  • Demonstrated analytical and basic project management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to review, consolidate and communicate with all levels within IS/IT and the user community.
  • Knowledge and proven experience in Stakeholder Management.
  • Strong collaboration skills / relationship building across levels and functions.
  • Ability to understand, evaluate and prioritize across three dimensions: business partner demands, advancement of IT capabilities and enterprise transformation.
