Reports to:     Senior HSE Manager

Location:        In-person schedule (M-F) in Watertown, SD facility

Position Description

The HSE Professional has the primary responsibility for coaching, leading and influencing the operations management on HSE principles, practices and safety culture.  The position will be responsible for leading the efforts around injury prevention, implementation of the HSE operating plan, roadmap implementation, and compliance with local, federal, and Terex HSE standards.  The position will also be a part of the site leadership team and will support all other aspects of the operation to ensure HSE standards and expectations are met and to help support the overall success of the operations.



  • Provide HSE technical expertise on manufacturing systems, process design and operating procedures.
  • Assess and identify the workplace for the presence of health, safety and environmental concerns and make recommendations to control or eliminate those concerns.
  • Establish operational goals to drive HSE improvements
  • Perform analysis of workplace HSE trends to measure and monitor performance metrics plus ensure accuracy of injury (OSHA) reporting and Terex HSE scorecards
  • Evaluate the operations, equipment and practices for HSE regulatory compliance and with company standards
  • Conduct and coordinate HSE training including the development of specific training for the workplace concerns based on assessment of site operations and incident trends
  • Guide HSE team members to focus on long term sustainable HSE improvements     
  • Communicate HSE information and provide expertise to operations, government representatives and the general public on issues concerning health, environmental performance or workplace safety
  • Required to wear Proper Protective Equipment (PPE) 

Required Qualifications

  • High diploma or equivalent


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science, Arts, or Engineering
  • Environmental safety background
  • 1 to 3 years relevant professional experience working in the field of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and/or Environmental including experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing operations
