Title:               Parts Operations Manager

Reports to:    Director, Global Parts Warehouse Operations & Customer Service

Location:        Southaven, Mississippi


As part of the implementation of our ‘Execute to Win’ business system.  Terex has launched several major initiatives to better understand how we operate in certain areas.   One major initiative is the development of a Parts and Services Strategy which will deliver Competitive Advantage and Profitable Growth through Industry Leading Customer Service.


Position Overview:


Reporting to the Director, Global Parts Warehouse Operations & Customer Service, this position plays a key leadership role, responsible for the management of all Parts warehousing and transportation functions in Southaven, our largest North American warehouse site.  This role continuously collaborates with 3PL and in-house personnel and offers guidance with prioritization to improve overall operational performance and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage the relationship with the 3PL in Southaven and internal teams in other locations to deliver superior, industry-leading Operations and Transportation performance based on a comprehensive KPI system. This includes the warehouse in- & outbound performance to standard, warehouse quality in terms of bin denials and warehouse errors and transportation performance
  • Coordinate the inventory management process that complies with both audit and financial requirements in terms of inventory accuracy
  • Drive operational improvements in terms of Quality/ 5s in the Southaven warehouse operations
  • Execute operational audits in line with Terex requirements for inbound, outbound, storage and transportation processes as part of the performance monitoring and ensure that corrective actions are taken and communicated immediately
  • Monitor transportation performance and services as well as offer appropriate group corrective actions
  • Identify industry best practices in the area of responsibility and initiate as well as execute business process improvement initiatives in cooperation with the 3PL and Terex customer support teams to continuously enhance dealer and customer experience
  • Actively manage and deliver on the committed Annual Operating Plan (AOP)/Budget SG&A and transportation cost targets for the Southaven Operations, i.e. Warehouse & Transportation Cost
  • Ensure that Terex health and safety policies and procedures are implemented and followed in line with the Terex programs and values
  • Ensure that all Terex HR, Ethics and compliance policies and procedures are known, applied and followed by site staff
  • Act as interface with and point of escalation for Terex commercial operations centers and Terex sales affiliates in respect of the operations & transportation performance out of the Southaven Parts Distribution Center
  • Support the Director, Global Parts Warehouse Operations & Customer Service with requests from Senior Management related to the functional area and ad-hoc projects


  • Seamlessly collaborate with the other functional teams in Parts, specifically the inventory planning and procurement teams as well as the sales teams, to maximize the customer service experience out of Southaven and support the Parts Business results in terms of customer service and financial return
  • Seamlessly collaborate with the segment Parts & Service organizations


Basic qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 5-6 years of experience in managing large warehouse operations


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Degree in Operations, Logistics or Supply Chain
  • Experience working in complex in-house operations and 3PL contracts in an international environment
  • Knowledge in hazardous material handling and shipping, transportation laws and product packing desirable
  • Effective project management skills desirable
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience in Warehouse & Transportation process enhancements and standardization
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold team members accountable
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and flexible team environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to negotiate and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis and process improvements)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight timelines 


  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Spanish proficiency is desirable


  • Limited travel (approximately 15%-20%)
