Position Overview:      

The key responsibility of the Global Product Strategic Initative Manager, in close collaboration with the Product Management team around the world, is to support developing and execute strategic plans to achieve the global company mission. Competencies include expertise in engineering, market understanding, product planning, forecasting and marketing at all stages of the product lifecycle with the objective of maximizing sales revenue, market share, and profit margins.


Main Tasks / Responsibilities:

  • Drive monthly Road map review activities at multiple tier levels rolling up to the tier 5 meeting reporting directly to the VP’s and President.
  • Track company wide global product margins and hold peer groups responsible for action plans.
  • Own financial assessment tool used for evaluating project priorities on the roadmap
  • Interface with production footprint team to achieve alignment between product road map and production footprint roadmap.
  • Track deliverables and metrics for roadmap based projects.
  • Participate in the development of and drive the execution of product development strategic plans through extensive knowledge and research of customer needs, market trends, customer/market segmentation, distribution channel characteristics, target market size, external environmental trends, and financial analysis.
  • Provide excellent (internal) customer support on product specific issues and new opportunities
  • Support Genie SO&P process and capital investment planning.
  • Maintain current knowledge of competitive products, projects and strategies.
  • Make recommendations for innovative solutions to improve our short-term and long-term competitive position.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, taking into account customer impact versus available resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.


Education / qualifications:

  • Strong Project management background
  • Business or Engineering Degree or similar experience
  • Master’s Degree in Business highly desirable
  • Knowledge of business financials
  • English proficiency, additional languages are beneficial



  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience in a similar role, having worked with sales and engineering.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing, and sales.
  • Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, prepare and deliver formal presentations
  • Has an expert understanding of the manufacturing, engineering and product support process.
  • Experience with TBS, training, planning, and financial analysis is a plus.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
  • Requires strong time management and project management skills
  • Analyse and guide sound business decisions based on research data and other input.
  • Must be comfortable demonstrating the complete line of Genie products working at full-extension heights.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-dimensional matrixed organization effectively.
  • Requires the ability to travel up to 40% of normal work hours.
