Field Service Supervisor- Midwest

Fort Wayne, IN, US

Location: Home location within region covering the following states: WI, IL, IN, MI, OH, KY, TN

 

This position is responsible for leading and developing the regional field technicians and making daily decisions to support the Terex World Class Service mission.  It includes managing all aspects of the regional operations to achieve revenue and profitability targets, increase market share and improve customer satisfaction within a geographic business market while adhering to company and legal policies and procedures.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Safety – the safety of our Team Members is our most important objective. Driving a safety culture to our team members and ensuring the daily, weekly and monthly safety standard work is fulfilled is imperative
  2. Continuous Improvement – we must strive to continually improve our capabilities and eliminate waste from our business processes. Provides continuous training for new and current technicians in technical expertise as well as work methods.  Utilizes Lean methods, tools and training to help achieve business objectives
  3. Customer Satisfaction – all of our actions and processes flow from customer needs. Customer responsiveness is priority and must be delivered with speed and accuracy.  Consistently meeting customer expectations is the minimal requirement. Continually investing in the development of our team members and processes to deliver Customer Satisfaction that exceeds expectations is our desired state.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver top line margin expansion through effective local market pricing controls, productivity initiatives, and other process improvements that effectively improve financial performance.
  • Generate top line revenue growth through sale of our service products & offerings, replacement components, and some new equipment. Lead Regional Technician team to achieve strategic goals related to revenue generation, profit attainment, and growth goals including market share through utilization of effective sales management techniques. Obtain market intelligence and develop strategy in gaining market/territory share.
  • Effectively coach, train, and develop all direct reports. Drive continuous improvement through company performance management process.
  • Establish a cost-disciplined culture within the Region. Maintain all expense budgets at or below established targets. Oversee monitoring of inventory levels of products and components, timely receivables collection, and the control of working capital.
  • Responsible for health, safety and environmental (HSE) compliance. Instill measurement and control systems to monitor and improve safety performance. Provide training to all employees to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
  • Ensure all operations compliance measures (including SOX) are in place and in accordance with the Terex Way Values and Code of Conduct. Instill measurement and control systems to monitor and improve performance.   Proactively engage in corrective action in deficient areas.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair truck mounted aerial platforms, digger derricks and cranes when needed and/or assist direct report technicians.

     

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • 3 yrs. experience in Supervision/Leadership
  • 5 yrs. field service experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret schematics
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Current valid Driver’s License and ability to pass MVR
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Requires own tools
  • Ability to travel 75% of the time

  

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience with MS Office Suite
  • 3+ years working with ERP systems
  • Fluid Power Society Certification
  • Experience with Utility type equipment
  • Ability to develop others
  • Leadership skills are critical. Individual must be able to work and engage across all levels within the organization
  • The ability to thrive in the tactical day-to-day as well as participate in the development and execution of the overall strategy are a must. Long term vision, planning and execution capabilities are required for success.
  • Analytical mind is needed to determine which priorities have the greatest value for our customers and ROI to the business.
