Supplier Quality Engineer, Supply Assurance

The Supplier Quality Engineer, Supply Assurance shall:

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams and activities focused on purchased component risk reduction within the Terex AWP supply chain.
  • Develop the supply chain: create and execute custom-tailored quality improvement plans based on supplier performance data and the maturity of their quality management systems.
  • Create, distribute, and report supplier quality metrics and supplier scorecards for the global Terex AWP organization.
  • Manage and directly support execution of the Terex Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
  • Conduct on-site manufacturing technical assessments and quality system assessments at domestic and international supplier locations.
  • Coach suppliers through effective problem solving techniques (8D, 5 Why’s) to ensure root causes are accurately identified and effective preventive measures are implemented.
  • Teaching and mentoring others in use of Supply Assurance tools and data.
  • Travel up to 50% (domestic and international) to perform supplier site assessments, PPAPs, and problem solving workshops

 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS Degree (Engineering) and 3+ years of experience in a quality and/or supplier quality role
  • Experience with ISO9001, TS16949, or similar quality management systems and auditing practices

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • First-hand experience with lean manufacturing waste reduction methods such as: Kanban, jidoka, poka-yoke, heijunka, kaizen
  • Understanding of purchasing and supply chain management
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and related tools such as: DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, PPAP
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment and relevant manufacturing processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Strong orientation towards safety, quality, and continuous improvements
  • Actively seeks out and learns new quality skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of hydraulic components and systems a plus
  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes a plus
  • ASQ certification desired (CQE or CSQP)
