  • Supervise a mix of Kanban coordinators, inventory control coordinators, and PFEP coordinators.
  • Ensure that these activities are performed in a manner that supports Lean principles and the Terex Operating System
    • Instructs and trains personnel to perform work assignments efficiently and safely
    • Supervise warehouse staff so that all production operations are supported and all material distribution is processed accurately and timely
    • Support and administer all company procedures and policies
    • Maintain employee work history files and time attendance records
    • Maintain good employee relations through counseling and proper application of employee relations policies


Essential Functions

  • Ensure that all activities are performed safely. Identify and report any unsafe conditions or acts to appropriate personnel and the Materials Manager
  • Manage processes to optimize material flow 
  • Supervise and provide support, direction, and coaching to assigned staff in the areas of training, problem resolution, planning, work assignment delegation, performance management and development
  • Manage inventory levels and is responsible to drive inventory accuracy through the site
  • Staffing responsibilities including selection and review of Team Members performance
  • Train new Team Members
  • Communicate company philosophies and policies, teach and demonstrate work routines
  • Maintain Team Member work history files including attendance and performance data
  • Oversee department operations with on-going focus on continuous improvement, cost containment, process analysis and compliance to Making Material Flow, Lean and TOS philosophies
  • Focus on creating a lean culture by participating in and supporting lean workshops and TIP events, 5S, standard work, maintaining documented processes, document changes (PCNs), post standards, monitor performance, create visual systems and perform daily audits
  • Adhere to supervisor standard work
  • Create and maintain standard work for all positions in Material Distribution
  • Ensure that assigned staff is trained and compliant to tasks outlined in standard work
  • Work with manager to establish department goals and performance metrics
  • Visually display up-to- date departmental KPIs, keeping all TMs informed of their individual and team performance
  • Initiate communications on employee relations matters such as promotions, transfers, attendance, discipline, work conditions, and personal assistance. Resolves Team Member grievances and problems, facilitating solutions or forwarding situations to higher authority
  • Ensure compliance to established company procedures and policies.
    Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position


Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 or more years of Inventory management experience
  • Must have at least one year of experience with material handling equipment


Preferred Qualifications 


  • 5 years experience as a high performing leader (preferably in Materials Supervision) with evidence of growing responsibilities
  • Must have supervised teams of at least 15 Team Members
  • Bachelors Degree preferred, not required
  • PIT certification is preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence in concepts, principles, and standard practices in Supply Chain Management, Material Handling, Inventory Control and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills
  • Sufficient human relations skills to conduct one-on-one training, resolve conflict, and achieve harmony with a large group of Team Members. Sufficient problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as labor and material shortages, plant safety, tool and equipment problems, while maintaining productivity
  • A working knowledge of production planning and production methods.
  • Ability to set objectives and manage/influence those factors involved with meeting these objectives
  • Strong team building and collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a high energy, fast-paced, dynamic work environment. 
  • APICS training is beneficial
  • Understanding of LEAN concepts and participation in a LEAN event required. (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Must be an expert with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and proficient with other Microsoft applications. SAP or Oracle experience
