Director National Accounts - Parts

Redmond, WA, US

Responsibilities and Scope:

Creates a strategy and implements plans to partner with Genie National Accounts.  Builds revenue base by executing strategic plan and facilitates the execution of the plan.   Develops team and team members per the guidelines of the Genie and Terex HR guidelines

 

National Accounts and Management

  • Establishes insights and helps Terex to strengthen national account relationships and partnership
  • Conducts research of local market and business activity. Identifies potential new opportunities with the National Account.
  • Responsible for inputting to and execution of the strategic plan for the accounts.
  • Creates the plan to grow relationships with existing locations, expand to new locations and to introduce new products to customer.  Manages activities and performance of the assigned team members with National Accounts to insure account performance goals are achieved for the year.
  • Analyzes the plans versus actual results and makes adjustments to efforts as necessary.
  • Has the ability to work and manage at all levels of national and international rental companies.
  • Very advanced knowledge of parts & services programs and partners closely with machines and service to achieve Terex goals.
  • Assists customer with business planning and development of forecasts for Terex and Genie products.
  • Presides at trade shows, coordinating business development and educational activities with customer.

 

Customer Relationships

  • Solicits feedback from customer to make sure the company is fulfilling their needs.
  • Elicits feedback from customer on existing products and service, as well as changes, enhancements, and new products that customers would like.  Conveys information to Genie TMs as appropriate.

 

Performance Management/Leadership

  • Responsible for the overall strategy and management of the account.
  • Overall responsibility for the performance management of the team, including providing regular feedback and completing annual performance reviews for each Team Member in the region. Identify gaps, address any issues, and identify any training needs.
  • Coaches, mentors, trains, and provides guidance for all Team Members working with the account.
  • Assists the team with creating solid performance and development goals. Monitors the progress of these goals on a regular basis.
  • Collects data and provides regular reports to management regarding the performance of the account. Monitors and manages the team’s forecasts, budgets, territory management and processes.
  • Creates and implements regular conference calls with the appropriate Team Members to discuss performance against established goals and to share best practices and areas for improvements.
  • Partners with the Recruiter and HR Manager to identify staffing needs and to make the best selection decisions regarding addition of new individuals to the team.
  • Ensures that the team and customer understand the Genie value proposition and that they included in interactions as appropriate.
  • Builds strong relationships with leaders in various Terex departments to be able to facilitate requests from customers and get things accomplished ( Marketing, Warranty, Parts, Service, etc)
  • Has an advanced knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and incorporates the principles in dealings with customers. Reinforces the lean concepts with Team Members within the region
  • Meets or exceeds the training requirements for self development during the year
  • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 10+ years of experience in outside sales

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in business or Engineering
  • Requires a very advanced relationship building skills and interpersonal skills
  • Requires an advanced technical knowledge of the products
  • Advanced knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development and product marketing
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships. Prepare and deliver formal presentations
  • Advanced written communication skills
  • Particularly experience with communicating advanced deal structures including, rebates, payment terms and freight allowances
  • Expert understanding of the manufacturing, engineering and product support process
  • Advanced knowledge of Lean philosophy and application to the roles of the team
  • Well-developed problem solving skills
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong time management skills

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Requires the ability to travel up to 70% of normal work hours. Must be comfortable demonstrating the complete line of Genie and Terex products working at full-extension heights.
