Title:                            Director, Global Logistics Sourcing and Governance

Reports to:                 VP Logistics & Distribution

Location:                    Terex locations in US (preferably Redmond)


Position Overview:


This position will be responsible for identifying and building relationships with key partners across Terex’s global logistics and transportation network. Responsible for over $200m spend across all modes of transport (truckload, air, ocean, RORO, parcel, rail, etc), the position will work to ensure we have the highest performing partners both operationally and commercially, while in turn ensuring Terex is the “shipper of choice” within the industry. Through a mix of direct and matrix reports, the position will responsible for driving best practices throughout the regions, standardizing and scaling our global carrier governance program across the business.



Global Logistics Sourcing:

  • Lead the Strategic Sourcing activities for Terex’s Global Logistics and Transportation function, driving best-in-industry cost and customer delivery experience.


  • Actively negotiate partnership commercial structures, identifying best-in-class partners and programs, delivering long-term commitments and partnerships to our internal operations team members.


  • Maintain and develop partnership accountability, ensuring complete visibility of Terex requirements and contractual adherence


  • Ensure all Terex Logistics and Transportation partners mirror and align with Terex’s Way Values and Zero-Harm Safety Culture, delivering our product not only on-time, but also professionally and safely.


Global Carrier Governance


  • Enhance and scale Terex’s Global Carrier Governance program across the segments and regions, providing standard KPI’s and accountability within our partner’s and internal processes.


  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews with our key transportation partners, ensuring completion of actions from site operating reviews, continuous improvement dashboards, and commercial updates.


  • Develop partner feedback mechanisms to communicate carrier improvement suggestions to our segments and sites, working towards “shipper of choice” status within the industry.


  • Working with segment leadership teams, communicate industry updates and changes affecting either cost or lead-time change, ensuring the success of our internal and external customer commitments



  • Supports the identification and implementation of enterprise-wide and department priority programs to ensure the success of the organization across all segments


  • Provides effective mentoring, coaching, and direction to support team members and partners in order to achieve business and personal development goal


  • Provides key leadership and accountability in partnership with the Finance team for regional Freight Bill and audit program and processes ensuring all spend is captured and GL coding system architecture is designed and applied consistently


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years actively managing Logistics sourcing programs and contract negotiations for multi-national organization/s


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in logistics, operations, or economics  (preferred not essential)
  • Successful track record in managing sourcing efforts within Logistics, Sourcing or Supply Chain
  • Experience in successfully managing and leading multi-functional virtual teams
  • Industrial, construction, or automotive experience an avantage
  • Experience in building and managing relationships with logistics service providers
  • Track record in implementation of logistics, warehouse, and inventory systems
  • Network and process design (distribution &/or transportation)
  • Ability to consistently demonstrate the Terex Way values
  • Track record of effective leadership in both strategic and tactical decision making
  • Highly developed business and financial acumen
  • Results driven, action oriented
  • Process discipline
  • Advanced communication and collaboration skills with the ability to develop relationships across levels, geographies and segments




Must be willing and able to travel approximately 75% of the time both domestically and internationally, as business requires.
