Design Engineer I

About the Job

This entry level position is responsible for the product design/design change process. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and documenting design solutions for complex engineering problems. These problems can be mechanical, structural, electrical, and hydraulic in nature. Specific areas of focus include machined parts, plasma/laser cut parts, formings, weldments, electrical control systems, and hydraulic lift/drive systems. You'll be responsible for developing new concepts from initial design to market release. Parts are designed and documented by creating models, assemblies, and drawings in SolidWorks. Analysis is performed using traditional methods in conjunction with dynamic and finite element analysis software. You’ll specify component and machine testing, create procedures and detail testing processes. You’ll work closely with our global Design Engineering teams and sustain a dynamic and creative engineering work atmosphere. You’ll maintain a focus on design for manufacturability and work closely with the global manufacturing teams and production facilities to assist in product.

 

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • ABET or equivalent accredited B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Ability to work in-person in Redmond, WA

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Intern/Co-Op experience
  • Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks, AutoCad and MathCAD.
  • Experience with hydraulic/electrical control systems.
  • Experience with structural analysis (Ansys).
