To be responsible for development, delivery, review and progression of Health and Safety Training to Terex Omagh Operations, Terex Finlay brand and to assist with health and safety duties where necessary
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- To develop and deliver health and safety training that will be specific and bespoke to Terex MP Omagh Operations and Terex Finlay Brand.
- To arrange and deliver training for all team members in line with current regulatory requirements.
- To maximise the uptake on training courses by co-coordinating all courses with production area management and team leaders in a way that ensures maximum possible attendance, site training objectives are met, and that production impacts are minimal.
- To review Terex MP Omagh’s and Terex Finlay Brand health and safety Training Matrix and develop departmental training programmes where necessary.
- Liaise with external training suppliers for general support for specific specialised training in line with allocated training budget.
- Develop training needs analyses and self-assessment documents to determine systematic training and development needs.
- Evaluates training programmes, including online e- Learning, instructional lead, training to ensure site objectives and legal requirements are met.
- Report health and safety training costs on a monthly basis and identify where overall cost savings improvements can be made.
- Management of induction safety training for external subcontractors working on any of the Terex MP Omagh Sites as required.
- To operate as part of the Terex MP Omagh HSE Team, to promote the best practical methods of safety for manufacturing purposes.
- To identify hazards, assess risks and agree control measures within Terex MP Omagh Operations and Terex Finlay brand in line with current legislation and to document these risks by means of a formal Risk Assessment. This may also include PPE evaluations.
- To help create and manage Procedures and Safe Systems of Work on the results of the Risk Assessments and controls.
- To complete scheduled Area Behavioural Safety Audits, challenging unsafe conditions, acts and practices immediately when discovered or reported. Maintaining records for findings of Behavioural Audits, planned and ad hoc.
- Have excellent communication skills and have the ability to lead others to meet core safety objectives
Experience & Qualifications:
- A NEBOSH General Certificate in Health & Safety or equivalent
- A proven record in developing and delivering health & safety training
- Level 3 Education and Training or the equivalent
- Skilled at developing and designing training support materials
- A proven understanding of health and safety legislation and knowledge of sources for reference
- A proven understanding of environmental legislation and knowledge of sources for reference
- Experienced with Risk Assessment, Hazard Awareness, Prioritisation, Controls, & Documentation
Desirable
- Health and Safety Diploma or equivalent
- Environmental Management Systems
- IEMA ISO 14001 Internal Auditor
- OSHA 18001 or 450001 Auditor Training
- Plant delivery training experience to include Forklift Truck (FLT) Mobile Elevated work platforms (MEWPs)
- Experience in the delivery of Gantry Crane and rigging training
- First Aid instructor
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent Communication skills with the ability to deliver training to various levels and disciplines
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at height
- Excellent IT Skills, specifically with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
- Excellent presentation skills
- Experienced in the development of procedures and policies
- The ability to manage a varied workload, and work from a busy schedule
- Good problem-solving skills
- The initiative to work on your own and be able to work as part of a team
- A Full Driving licence
- Availability to travel
