External Reporting Analyst

About the Position

Title:                     Analyst, External Reporting 

Reports to:          Senior Manager, External Reporting 

Location:             Norwalk, CT / Remote eligible 

Relocation:          Not available 

  

Position Overview 

The External Reporting Analyst will assist with the preparation of SEC filings including quarterly and annual financial statements.  The analyst will be involved with the preparation of financial information included in periodic earnings releases, press releases to the public and any other projects as needed.  The analyst will be involved with financial account analyses, various other financial reporting responsibilities and process improvement initiatives. 

  

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with the preparation and timely filing of SEC quarterly and annual reports, proxy statements, registration statements and other SEC filings. 

  • Perform financial account analyses to support financial statement disclosures. 

  • Perform research in the Accounting Standards Codification to ensure reported results comply with US GAAP. 

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of US GAAP and recently issued accounting standards related to assigned financial statement areas.  

  • Provide business units with guidance on US GAAP and internal accounting policies. 

  • Assist with internal controls, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, and processes over financial reporting. 

  • Participate in the implementation of process improvements and completion of special projects. 

  • Coordinate with and support the work of our external auditors. 

  

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related subject matter 

  • 1 year of experience, preferably from a public accounting firm, or experience in the corporate accounting group of a multi-national company 

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills 

  • Strong knowledge of business processes, internal controls, and US GAAP  

  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • CPA or CPA candidate 

  • Experience with OneStream, Workiva a plus 

  • Possess strong analytical skills and organizational skills 

  • Attention to detail, action oriented and strong follow-up  

  • Positive, can-do attitude; self-starter 

  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines 

  • Ability to work in a team environment, strong interpersonal, and communication skills 

  

Travel 

  • Minimal travel anticipated
