Supplier Quality Engineer 1

Responsibilities:

The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will ensure effective implementation of Genie quality assurance processes throughout the Supply Chain. This role supports manufacturing through identification of supply issues, containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, preventative action, process standardization and documentation. The ideal candidate will be capable of developing tools needed to measure Supplier performance and work with Suppliers to resolve quality and delivery issues. The SQE will conduct on-site Supplier quality audits supporting the Supply Assurance process. This position requires excellent communication skills and technical proficiency.

 

Required Qualifications:

- 4-year engineering degree, or 5 years relevant experience

- Proficiency with computers, including MS Office products

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to teach others

 

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong project management skills

- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods

- Understanding of common business metrics

- Experience in supply chain management

- Experience performing quality system audits

- Ability to eliminate Quality challenges using poke-yokes and Zero QC techniques

- Ability to compile and analyze data

- Understanding of SPC, and process capability determination

- Technical expertise to identify root cause through data analysis

- Ability to develop and implement improvements quickly

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently, and within a team

- Flexibility to work overtime

- Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects at one time.

- Hands on experience in a fabrication/assembly shop environment

- Experience with SolidWorks

- Experience auditing an ISO 9000 or equivalent Quality System

- Experience in lean manufacturing and Quality Assurance
