Material Distribution Specialist (Parts Warehouse)– Position location in North Bend, WA

North Bend is 30 miles east of Seattle, WA with a beautiful drive and view. Genie North Bend location has eight main departments (Safety, Warehouse, Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Quality, HR, and Engineering/Maintenance). Team members performs fun and productive hands-on experience with putting together Genie parts, machines, and packages for customers.

Starting pay:  Material Distribution Specialist:  $17.77

 

Location:  North Bend, WA

 

The Materials Distribution Specialist receives materials into the warehouse, picks customer orders and packs materials for shipment. May perform Inventory Control responsibilities to resolve parts discrepancies. May fill work orders for kits to be built in warehouse assembly area. Job tasks completed in warehouse environment.

 

Responsibilities :

Parts Picking: fill customer orders. Follow orders pick list to picking parts from various stock locations in warehouse, including customer and assembly orders. Deliver to shipping area for packing and shipment. May release customer orders from AS400 for picking.

Shipping: pack parts for shipping. Items can be retrieved by hand, or using a hand truck or forklift. Pack parts in appropriate container for shipping. Works in woodshop building pallets and boxes. Review part/item requests. Identify parts/items that need to be shipped. Gather the appropriate part(s)/items(s) from the warehouse, or a specific shop in the plant. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers. Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding. Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping (banding) machine. Package the part(s)/items(s) for shipping.

 

  • Receiving: receives parts from suppliers. Count and verify parts against supplier pack list. Put parts away in stock location. Follows and maintains a parts pick up and delivery schedule based on the needs of customer orders.
  • Parts Picking: fill customer orders. Follow orders pick list to pick parts from various stock locations in warehouse, including customer and assembly orders. Deliver to shipping area for packing and shipment.
  • Shipping: pack parts for shipping. Process shipping paperwork, or use UPS computer system. Pack parts in appropriate container for shipping. May work in woodshop building pallets or boxes.

 

Requirements:

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have minimum 1 year of warehouse experience.
  • Must be able to work alone and in a team environment
  • Must be able to work outside in extreme conditions
  • May be required to drive a forklift, 4-6 months forklift experience is preferred.
  • Requires basic math skills to read and pick customer orders
  • Strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms
  • Strong orientation toward Safety and quality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to a deadline.
  • Must be able to carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Excellent attendance record and a willingness to work a flexible schedule to include overtime as required.
  • Requires a working knowledge of material distribution and inventory control (such as Kanban and just-in-time replenishment).
  • Requires sufficient writing skills to complete orders, prepare work instructions, and describe workflow processes.
  • Requires sufficient human relations skills to gain cooperation with others and convey technical information.
  • Requires basic mathematic and analytical skills to read and understand customer pick orders, supplier pack slips, record and analyze data using AS400, and data entry.
  • Be flexible to work mandatory overtime
