Machinist III

Responsibilities

 

  • Receives work orders and processes that required part from its interpretation.
  • Inspects parts for quality and completion.
  • Keeps work area clean and safe using lean principles.
  • Participates in lean, 5s and safety training events.
  • Participates in daily Kaizen
  • Light fabrication duties may be required.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on production needs and adjust work schedule.
  • Outlines work in a well-planned and organized manner, distributing the workload appropriately.
  • Quality conscious and detail oriented
  • Works with Team members to promote teamwork
  • Creates action plans involving multiple resources with expanded scope. Uses action plan to measure progress in achieving results to the situation.
  • Imparts knowledge and mentors junior Team Members
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6-8+ years of experience machinist

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advance skills and ability to use Bed Mill, Lathes, Floor Grinders, Drill Presses, Band Saw
  • Advanced skills in programing CNC machines
  • Ability to read blueprints and engineer drawings
  • Basic knowledge of the purpose and operations of plasma and laser cutting tables, forming and CNC machining.
  • Ability to manage time and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Analytical skills to establish procedures to solve routine problems
  • Advanced skills in tooling part fabrication, machining, and fixture assembly processes
  • Knowledge of quality inspection and solution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop solutions in design, machining, build and implementation of cost efficient and ergonomic tooling

 

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Typically works in a manufacturing environment, standing for long periods of time, and requires the ability to move materials weighing up to 40 pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Ability to operate small hand tools as well as common shop floor equipment.
