Product Engineer III

 Purpose

Design, develop and test all aspects of one or more CBI Product lines

 

 Specific duties
  • Responsible for new design concepts across CBI product lines.
  • Incorporate commonality across product lines for new designs
  • Manage & oversee all Engineer work related to those Product Lines
  • Create and manage all BOMs and Drawings
  • Meet deliverables for new design projects
  • Complete documentation package (job books, manuals, assy dwgs, etc.)
  • Provide manufacturing support
  • Perform ongoing review of Product Line for new methods, materials, etc.
  • Follow proper Engineering procedures for ECOs, ECRs, etc
  • Provide sound Engineering concepts & principles
  • Produce timely and accurate As-Built BOMs
  • Create Bills of Material for assembly drawings
  • Produce all required documentation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.

 

Work requires regular contact with steel fabricators, machine shops, service departments, purchasing departments, and shop technicians

 

Work involves little physical effort.

 

Good working conditions with only occasional exposure to disagreeable elements such as dirt, unsanitary conditions, weather, etc.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of two-year Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering, BSME preferred
  • 5+ years related work experience; heavy equipment design is a plus.  
  • Proficient in mechanical design, detailing, and the use of computer-assisted drafting (CAD) software.  Experience with Solidworks is required.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical components including sheaves, bushings, bearings, and linkages.
  • Strong ability to balance between cost, quality, and effectiveness in new designs.
  • Strong knowledge of common manufacturing terminology and techniques, including welding, fabricating, and machining.
  • Familiar working in an ERP system to maintain accurate BOM’S
  • Prior experience using FEA to analyze designs is a plus.
  • Prior experience using a data management system such as Solidworks PDM
  • Strong with manufacturing materials knowledge.
  • Familiar with hydraulic and electrical design concepts.
  • Comfortable with customer interface and or direct support of machines.
  • Thorough knowledge of English and Metric units of measurement, as well as basic mathematics and geometry.
  • Self-starter, independent worker with strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in deadline driven environment.
