Material Handler

Position Overview

Responsible for creating a seamless flow of materials from warehouse to production, handling materials in a safe and efficient manner


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Efficient and timely handling of all materials
  • Support production through timely and accurately delivery of parts
  • Use of PIT in a safe and efficient manner including fork truck, loader, yard truck, etc.
  • Loading and unloading of materials deliveries and paint booth
  • Issues materials per written instructions
  • Delivers materials to appropriate areas
  • Labeling and processing of painted parts
  • Assist with physical counts (cycle counts, physical inventories)
  • Maintain equipment and parts in yard
  • Perform yard maintenance as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Experience

  • 0 to 2 years related work experience
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • 1 year+ forklift experience
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Ability to read/write and to follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • Some computer experience helpful
  • Shipping/receiving experience preferred
  • Tractor Trailer experience preferred
  • Certification to ride forklift truck preferred
  • Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software


Physical requirements

  • Adhere to all onsite PPE requirements
  • Standing/moving up to 50% of the time
  • Sitting in fork truck up to 50% of the time
  • Pushing/pulling while driving fork truck
  • Bending/Lifting equipment/parts up to 40 pounds to deliver to staging areas
  • Working at height on occasion, ascending/descending ladder or stairs
  • Repetitive motions that may include the wrist, hands or fingers
  • This position faces to outside elements when moving equipment/parts to staging areas
