Material Handler

Schedule:

4/10's 1:00PM - 11:30PM M-Th

10% pay differential

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for creating a seamless flow of materials from warehouse to production, handling materials in a safe and efficient manner

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Efficient and timely handling of all materials
  • Support production through timely and accurately delivery of parts
  • Use of PIT in a safe and efficient manner including fork truck, loader, yard truck, etc.
  • Loading and unloading of materials deliveries
  • Issues materials per written instructions
  • Delivers materials to appropriate areas
  • Maintain equipment and parts in yard
  • Perform yard maintenance as needed
  • Follow the "painted parts process"
  • Load paint racks, marking racks with numbers and putting drawings in associated folders
  • Unload the paint booth
  • Unload parts from paint racks
  • Label all parts taken off paint racks
  • Bring any needed short parts to required area on the production floor
  • Deliver parts into the warehouse and stock in proper locations
  • Give inventory control team member the location of stocked parts in order to transfer into location
  • Audit machine picks prior to delivery to the production floor
  • Work with inventory control team member to ensure all parts are picked and delivered to production
  • Deliver parts into SWIP (Staged Work In Progress) locations that are empty
  • Audit SWIP locations to determine which ones are empty and require part deliveries
  • Follow the "Kanban" standard work
  • Audit Kanban system and pick up Kanban cards
  • Deliver Kanban cards to proper location
  • Return Kanban cards to stock locations with incoming stock
  • Assist inventory control team member with picking machines
  • Perform cycle counts as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • 0 to 2 years related work experience
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • 1 year+ forklift experience
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Ability to read.write and to follow instructions, and work independently with little guidance
  • Ability to operate computers and relevant warehouse management computer software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
