This team is responsible for those functions, activities, and skills used to create and document, via hard copy or electronic standard drawing practices, product hardware (and perhaps software) parts and assemblies.


This position is responsible for creating support drawings and documentation for procurement of materials, production floor assembly, and after sales documentation.  This includes creation of 2D fabrication prints and exploded view drawings for part number identification using 3D Solidworks CAD Software. 



  • Demonstrates ability to take direction and achieve desired outcome.
  • Knowledgeable in 3D Solidworks design software, flow and workings.
  • Knowledgeable in 2D AutoCAD design, demonstrating proficiency to conduct print changes.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power point.
  • Has demonstrated ability to be a self-starter.
  • Can take general direction and accomplish tasks as assigned.
  • Solves issues with little or no direction.
  • Knowledge of welding process and welding application.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Create 2D fabrication drawings from 3D Solidworks Models ranging from simple cut steel, plastic, and rubber to complex weldments with welding, fixturing, and machining.
  • Manipulate CAD assemblies to add information, create exploded parts views, and process design changes.
  • Create exploded view drawings of complex assemblies for the CBI production assembly department and end customers to clearly identify components.  
  • Perform minor modifications of legacy 2D Autocad files when required.
  • Complete ECO “Engineering Change Order” header sheets for release of an ECO
  • Follow and assist in creation of Engineering processes and procedure
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects including streamlining internal process, design improvements, and cost savings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned/or needed


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year of Solidworks 3D CAD experience


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of Solidworks 3D CAD experience
  • Strong working knowledge of terms, procedures, and components used in industrial manufacturing
  • Strong PC software skills with both Word and Excel
  • Skilled in engineering terminology including design specifications, and bill of materials
  • Project management experience to drive continuous improvement within the department
  • Certified Solidworks Associate
