Controls Engineer

CBI, a division of Terex Environmental, is seeking a highly motivated individual who has a desire to specialize in a unique multi-discipline roll. In this role the individual will be asked to design electrical and hydraulic control systems, write PLC programs, start-up and troubleshoot machine functionality, and be looked at internally and externally as a product expert. CBI recognizes finding a candidate who specializes in all of the below tasks, although desirable, is unlikely. The candidate must have a desire to learn, be part of a high paced team, and keep a positive attitude through an ever-changing work load.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create electrical and hydraulic BOM’s and schematics
  • Assist in the management of all in house electrical projects
  • Develop and troubleshoot machine PLC programs
  • Follow proper Engineering procedures - ECOs, ECRs, etc.
  • Responsible for research and development of new products and technology
  • Create project plan and meet deliverables
  • Seeks consistent results and operation of a system within specified tolerances
  • Assist in the creation of machine operation and parts manuals
  • Provide manufacturing and aftermarket support
  • Assist in training of internal and external personnel
  • Work with subcontractors and power companies during stationary systems installation
  • Travel both domestic and abroad to perform on site diagnostics, training, and equipment commissioning
  • Ensures all personnel follow safety protocol, use of PPE, and reporting of unsafe conditions

     BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 5+ years in at least one of the following areas
    • Electrical control system design
    • PLC programming 
    • Hydraulic control system design
  • Ability to travel up to 20% both domestic and abroad and
  • Possess a valid passport
     
     PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering field
  • Strong knowledge of industrial controls systems
  • Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 79, and CE
  • Experience in the following software
    • Parker IQAN
    • Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View )
    • AutoCad / AutoCad Electrical preferred
  • Experience with hands-on electrical installation and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Hydraulic system design and troubleshooting
  • Experience with radio communications
  • Experience with CAN, J1939, and Ethernet communications
