Manager, Strategy & Business Development Excellence


Position Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity in our Genie Aerial Work Platforms business, part of our Terex family of brands. The Manager, Strategy & Business Development Excellence has leadership responsibility for executing the Genie Operating System strategy. The Genie Operating System improves Genie’s operating profit and enables long-term strategy by deploying a common framework, defining guiding criteria for performance excellence, and continuously improving the execution of the Genie Operating System. The person in this role will guide the organization through our business transformation through robust change management and coaching. The person in this role will act as a subject matter expert to Genie’s global extended leadership team as we deploy the Genie Operating System throughout the organization. The Manager, Strategy & Business Development Excellence is responsible for owning the Genie Operating System strategy, developing, and managing an execution plan, and ensuring alignment of the strategy to Genie’s long-term strategic plan. This role reports into the Director, Global Strategy and must be in the USA.



  • Support the achievement of Genie’s market share and operating profit objectives through robust deployment of Genie Operating System
  • Build robust working relationships with Genie’s Executive Leadership and functional leaders throughout the organization through Genie Operating System deployment
  • Enable Genie Operating System deployment by serving as a subject matter expert in the Genie Operating System elements and Assessment process
  • Develop and support program management efforts for Genie Operating System deployment and assessment processes
  • Enable continuous improvement of Genie’s cross-functional business operating system design
  • Modernize strategic business systems and tools
  • Improve strategic communciation & change management processes
  • Conduct internal and external benchmarking for performance excellence
  • Ongoing enhancement and achievement of Genie’s 5-year strategic plan
  • Develop and manage Genie Operating System assessment process and schedule
  • Develop and deliver internal train-the-trainer workshops as education and deployment of the Genie Operating System
  • Actively manage and improve the M&A pipeline by partnering with leaders throughout Terex and cultivating and managing relationships with external parties
  • Lead market analyses, business case development and propose recommended actions for inorganic growth
  • Actively promote and enable Terex diversity, inclusion, and equity (DEI) goals & initiatives

  • Market share, net working capital, gross margin
  • Improve Genie’s business operating system design & processes


  • Program milestones, change management, measurable continuous improvement


  • Launch Genie Operating System Assessment process
  • Program milestones, train-the-trainer workshops, assessment process and schedule


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Engineering, or similar field
  • Minimum of 7 years total experience in at least 3 cross functional positions (program management, sales, and operations preferred)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Business operating system experience
  • Structured problem-solving approach and evidence-based action planning
  • Experience leading business process improvements in cross-functional teams
  • Experience in an international business environment & ability to interact successfully in different cultures
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams
  • Excellent communication, PowerPoint, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable, and accountable
  • Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, influence, negotiation, problem solving, and strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve goals and effectively communicate opportunities for improvement



  • Excellent written and spoken English



  • Must be willing and able to travel (approximately 10%)
