Cloud Architect (Remote)

Location:       Remote, based in the United States 


Position Overview:

The CX Architect will be a leading role in our global Oracle Cloud implementations, working with SAAS and PAAS solutions from Oracle, as well as other providers where appropriate. They will work closely with global project teams consisting of both internal and external partners and actively participate in all phases of new application implementations. This includes planning, application and solution design, configuration, development of custom solutions, integration, and data migration.

Terex leverages multiple applications in the Oracle Cloud CX portfolio such as Commerce, B2B Sales and Service, CPQ, Eloqua, Field Service, and Subscription Management. In addition, we support these using the Oracle PAAS technology stack. This architect position will play a critical role in optimizing solutions within and across these platforms, leveraging multiple applications in the portfolio.

This architect will be working with a dispersed group of developers, business stakeholders, and IT peers located in different countries and time zones. A flexible approach to working and an understanding of cultural diversities is required where English is the working language. 



  • Engage with business stakeholders and partner IT departments to identify, recommend, and design technology solutions.
  • Proactively offer solutions to complex technical problems
  • Lead key design decisions including detailed description of each option, pros and cons of each solution and recommendations.
  • Develop phased implementation roadmap of the solution architecture supporting business priorities and budget as required.
  • Communicate and work effectively in a global environment.
  • Engage in the entire agile software development lifecycle.
  • Develop and evolve processes for operating effectively with internal and external partners.
  • Proactively recommend solutions to known business challenges and opportunities.
  • Assist in application strategy and roadmap development.
  • Incorporate industry best practices into requirements and user stories.
  • Develop proof of concepts or prototypes and present to stakeholders.
  • Serve as a technical mentor and provide aid and leadership to the development and support teams.
  • Create technical architecture diagrams.
  • Perform business process and user experience modelling.
  • Validate architecture and design proposals from external partners.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ experience in Oracle CX Commerce
  • Understanding of ecommerce and associated technologies, including PIMs, payment gateways, shipping, ERP, and development technologies
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Travel up to 25% (post-covid)
  • Fluent in English


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C ecommerce
  • Experience in a complex enterprise application environment with integrations and customizations to support multiple business processes.
  • Familiar with Oracle CX tech stack
  • Experience in Oracle PAAS technologies and market awareness of other cloud services
  • Familiarity with enterprise integration tools.
  • Prior experience implementing CPQ a plus
  • Prior experience implementing CRM a plus
  • Understanding and experience with Oracle ERP systems a plus.
  • Excellent writing, facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Candidate should be results driven and a self-starter.
  • Candidate must be a team player.
  • Must be able to quickly understand business challenges and needs.
  • Must be able decompose high-level information into details.
  • Ability to organize and lead meetings with large stakeholder groups.
