Supply Chain and Operations Business Analyst

Position Description 

The Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the Strategy Execution, Global Supply Chain functions, and the IT organization in order to provide process, project, and technical solution expertise.  The ideal candidate will analyze business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions; drive the business process documentation and redesign as needed for process improvement or new technology; translate high level business requirements into functional specifications.



  • Partner with the Global Supply Chain, Ops, and IT teams to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements
  • Document and visually map the current and future state to identify, communicate, validate and gain consensus on process improvements
  • Partner early in the definition phase to draft project charter with business counterparts to define initial scope, benefits, and cost estimates
  • Analyze, document and test program development, logic, process flows and specifications and make recommendations for improvements
  • Support the implementation of systems across a global supply chain landscape including factories and distribution centers to create an experience that positions Terex as best in class for customers
  • Partner with business stakeholders to conduct user acceptance testing
  • Document user manuals to describe installation and operating procedures
  • Coordinate resources to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Develop and articulate an understanding of how solutions will impact present and future business needs.
  • Keep current with advances in both technology and technique (i.e.: web, client/server; rapid application development techniques; relational database methodology).


  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Information Systems Technology, Computer Science or related field


Experience and Skills

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a Business Analyst role.
  • Solid background in business enablement through technology
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP (functions like order management, warehouse management, purchasing, scheduling, WIP, and transportation), QMS, SIOP, and MES applications from an implementation / support perspective
  • Strong analytical skills applied to understanding business functionality and translating them into application requirements
  • Ability to create compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
  • Excellent understanding of business complexity and project interdependencies
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems that may arise in work products
  • Ability to partner with software engineers, citizen developers, and quality analysts to identify course of resolutions
  • Modeling Techniques: Object Orientation analysis, UML (e.g. Use Cases, Activity Diagrams)
  • In depth understanding of the various software development lifecycles  (e.g. Agile, RUP, and Waterfall)



  • Must be willing and able to travel approximately 20%-30% of the time
