Industrial Electrician

Essential Functions:

  • The ability to install and wire 480V breakers, transformers, motors and 120V control devices.
  • The ability to install, perform maintenance and troubleshoot relays, starters, drives and various control circuits
  • The ability to follow schematics and PLC logic to identify a problem
  • The ability to use and operate hand tools
  • The ability to interface with other departments to accomplish tasks
  • The ability to work on mechanical and hydraulic components that interface with the electrical systems.
  • Ability to follow and apply all applicable safety requirement to comply with regulatory agencies
  • Report workplace hazards associated with equipment being used, workplace injuries and/or illness and workplace near miss incidents immediately to direct supervisor
  • The ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane
  • Maintain a clean work area as required
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • The ability to stand for up to 10 hours per day

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of industrial electric controls experience
  • Basic math and blueprint reading skills
  • Should be able to self-inspect work
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate tools related to the task (such as strippers, cable strippers, hand tools, mag drill, electrical meter, etc.)
  • Computer literate to include skills in Microsoft Office products
  • Must have a valid driver's license be able to obtain a valid passport for extensive overseas travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate/Technical degree
  • Electrician License a plus, but not required
  • Experience in reading and understanding schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, both in-person and over the phone
  • Willingness to make decisions with purpose and a strong sense of urgency to resolve equipment failures promptly
  • Ability to work independently and use available resources to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Must interact well with others in a diverse environment and be a team player
  • Must be dependable and punctual 
  • Training experience, conducting training seminars and hands-on demonstrations
