Senior Financial Analyst

The Sr. Cost Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and reporting financial and product cost data for Finance and Management as well as monthly compliance to support the business.  The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of cost accounting principles and standard costing systems in an ERP environment; will be responsible for maintaining the cost accounting system, performing monthly close responsibilities as it relates to the business unit, performing monthly variance analysis, participating in the annual standard cost roll and in monthly/annual forecasting and budgeting. The candidate will provide financial planning & analysis support to operational leaders, perform monthly close responsibilities provide monthly reporting, variance analysis, forecasting/budgeting, and decision & compliance support for these functions.



  • Month and quarter close process for operational review and accuracy.
  • Develop, implement and/or maintain the cost accounting systems for manufactured equipment and parts.
  • Perform cost variance analysis on a monthly basis and support GL team with monthly adjustments.
  • Prepare reporting, analyze results and provide insights/recommendations to improve performance in operational/COGS spend, including but not limited to inventory, cycle counts, PPV, and E&O.
  • Prepare monthly reporting on Sales and Margins, analyzing margin variances.
  • Monthly site reporting including preparation of key monthly operational business summaries.  Compares performance with operating plans and standards covering key performance indicators. 
  • Business partner with operational budget owners to meet business objectives, including monthly cost center forecasting, variance analysis, decision support, and identifying/resolving adverse results.
  • Assist with weekly scorecard for revenue, cos and operating profit
  • Review and report metrics for Operations (Efficiency, BTS, OTD, Inventory turns)
  • Participate in S&OP for inputs, analysis and reviews, machine production meetings.
  • Performs revenue recognition verification to support finance and sales.
  • Assist in ensuring SOX compliance and timely performance of testing and documentation.
  • Assist with annual budget, and forecasts.
  • Drive continuous innovations in reporting & analysis to ensure relevancy and usefulness for decision making.
  • Gain in-depth understanding of underlying business drivers and their impact on results and future forecasts.
  • Direct support to Controller and Finance Director with various other projects or ad hoc reporting as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
  • Three to Five years of progressively responsible finance/accounting experience; including exposure to costing in a standard cost environment.



  • System Skills: Intermediate to advanced Excel user.  Experience with Oracle, SAP or other major ERP system.  Experience with OneStream, Hyperion or other Business information tool.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, relationship building skills and demonstrated ability to work across and influence different functional areas and levels of management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work independently.
  • Quick learner, strong analytical and problem solving skills to complement creative “out-of-the-box” thinking.
