Position Description


Terex Corporation is currently seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to support our Aerial Work Platforms and Materials Processing business segments.  This role will be the global product compliance expert for all regulatory items impacting the business segments.  The Product Compliance Engineer will liaise with suppliers to retrieve data on supplied parts and components, maintain supplier data and supporting documentation, and analyze the information to determine regulatory compliance with global requirements (REACH, GHS, RoHS, etc…). 


The successful candidate will closely collaborate with the business segments and Product Safety Team to ensure product compliance requirements are achieved and appropriately communicated throughout the organization

  • Initiate communications with Terex’s supply chain to retrieve material composition data for supplied parts and components.  Provide timely follow-up with suppliers on requests for information. 
  • Educate suppliers on product compliance regulations in order to receive appropriate data and information.
  • Populate and maintain corporate database(s) with data on parts, components, and finished goods.
  • Evaluate parts, components and finished product data to determine compliance with REACH, RoHS, customer requirements, and other identified material regulations. 
  • Create and maintain compliance files for associated business segments and Terex Legal Entities. 
  • Collaborate with the business segment’s product development and engineering teams to solve regulatory issues for new and existing products.
  • Identify and interpret global product compliance regulations.  Proactively respond when significant business risks for product compliance are recognized.
  • Lead initiatives to introduce new product compliance regulations to the business segments. 
  • Complete customer requests and other product compliance documentation, as requested.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of product compliance training.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned, that support the overall objective of the position and the Terex HSE Strategic Plan. 



Qualification Requirements


Education:  Bachelor’s degree in materials science, chemistry, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent.

  • Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years related technical experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with REACH, GHS and RoHS requirements.
  • Experience operating in a global multi-national company. 
  • Ability to analyze and interpret regulatory requirements, and conclude necessary actions. 
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in English. 
  • Knowledge of other European languages is a plus.

Travel:  Estimated travel is < 20% but up to 40% to support sourcing activities
