The Specialist Receiving is a great way to get your foot in the door! We are looking for people that have a positive outlook in general, that can demonstrate productive behaviors, are reliable and possess basic industrial skills. The Specialist Receiving position is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. Their duties include unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until they receive outgoing order requests and notifying management personnel when they don’t have enough of a particular product to fulfill orders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods
- Assuring no damaged items are sent or received
- Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list
- Collaborating with the marketing department to develop a schedule for assembling and displaying manufacturer marketing pieces on the sales floor
- Updating the product inventory as products are received and added to the inventory
- Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary
- Enters and retrieves production information onto a computerized data entry screen or custom-designed form.
Basic Qualifications:
- Good at math
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Experience operating heavy machinery
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Good communication and organizational skills
Abilities:
- Sufficient reasoning ability to understand detailed, yet repetitive, written and oral instructions, and solve straight forward problems.
- Perform arithmetic calculations, read and record detailed measurements, counts, distances, and times.
- Learn and understand safety, continuous quality, and just-in-time within reasonable period of time.
Physical Abilities:
- Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on a continuous basis.
- Requires the ability to lift, pull, push and guide medium weigh objects (20-40 pounds) on a continuous basis.
- Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment, make intricate connections, and make precise measurements.
- Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials
- Requires auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years of previous warehouse experience
- Experience in operation of forklifts and other warehouse related equipment.
- General understanding of computers
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Licenses and Certificates
Forklift Certified
Work is performed a manufacturing environment where significant safety considerations exist from use of dangerous equipment, proximity to moving objects, full-body physical labor and handling of medium-to-heavy weight materials. Required equipment for all operations includes but not limited to; steel toe shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses.
