Regional Sales Manager

Charlotte, NC, US

Candidate will need to be located in the Eastern part of the United States.

 

This is a key team role for the Terex Minerals Processing Systems Products sales and distribution group that will manage and grow the business in the market area , while maintaining current distribution and developing new distribution which will result in a network that leads the industry in customer satisfaction, equipment and parts supply, and applications expertise (within the geographical sales territory)


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, implement, monitor, and enforce regional targets through distributor business 
  • Actively manage and motivate Distributors on a daily basis to :
    • Achieve sales and market share targets.
    • Measure target implementation in distributor business planning process.
    • Implement consistent and industry leading distribution management practices
    • Ensure proper rental fleets and equipment inventory at the distributor level to service the assigned territory.
    • Ensure proper sales and service coverage and call frequency by distributors in the assigned territory.
    • Ensure understanding of retail financing by distributor sales personnel.
    • Present product value propositions to customers.
    • Monitor and ensure parts inventory at distributor level to properly support the installed equipment base.
    • Monitor and manage sales volume, profitability, and account status in the assigned territory.
    • Manage and ensure distributor participation in Terex sales and service training programs.
    • Create and submit equipment sales forecasts.
    • Ensure distributor participation in co-op marketing activities.
    • Participate in appropriate and approved industry associations.
    • Motivate and build relationships with dealers and key customers in the territory.
    • Provide market feedback related to customer demands and product development needs or ideas.
    • Work closely and communicate effectively with applications team, engineers, inside sales people, and parts department
  • Participate in strategic distribution network building and a key role in distribution appointment and cancellation process.
  • Quote prices, delivery dates and update distributors accordingly
  • Provide technical crushing and screening product sales, support and guidance to distributors and customers
  • Organize, plan and arrange distributor visits to include travel time with distributor sales personnel to qualify potential customer business opportunities
  • Participate in key industry associations.
  • Travel throughout the geographic territory as required, Travel approximately 50-70%

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years Sales experience in Crushing and Screening equipment
  • Needs to have valid driver’s license and be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the sale or application of crushing and screening equipment
  • Proven sales growth record and proven ability to confidently enter new markets
  • College/higher education
  • Distribution management experience
  • Positive and energetic individual with leadership and motivational skills
  • Ability to travel as described 50-70% of the time
  • Experience in management and appointment of third party distribution networks
  • Familiarity with, ability to, and willingness to, work safely on-site in industrial crushing and screening settings, on and around crushing and screening equipment
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office, MS Outlook, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint presentation
  • Ability to present information and respond to queries effectively whether from managers, colleagues, distributors, their employees and customers
  • Ability to assemble and present business and product PowerPoint presentations to colleagues, distributors and customers
    Professional level knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business    development, product marketing, and sales
  • Excellent human relations skills to prepare and deliver formal presentations to customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating activities with a variety of large teams
  • Time and Territory Management practices needs to be exceptional
