Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for:


  • Develop standards tools and standard work to drive efficiency improvements
  • Interact with other members of the leadership team (operations, design engineering, quality assurance, supplier quality/development, sales and planning) to actively achieve the facility's goals
  • Use Terex problem solving methodologies in order to determine root cause for manufacturing issues
  • Improve repeatability for design and manufacturability by implementing process controls and error proofing
  • Establishing and documenting process specifications that ensure design and manufacturing operations will meet product specification as established by engineering to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Champion and lead projects that improve; design and manufacturing process efficiencies, quality, margins, absorption, reduce warranty, and reduce downtime, to drive profitability
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
  • Manage site improvement projects and reporting metrics in alignment with site priorities and budget commitments
  • Provide hands-on leadership to the design and manufacturing team focused on developing and improving design and manufacturing processes, efficiencies, and overall throughput
  • Oversee a team focused on executing strategic initiatives to drive equipment reliability improvements and process improvements
  • Value Stream mapping the processes required for identifying gaps and waste
  • Lead the effort to identify, investigate, recommend and implement equipment improvements and process systems changes that will improve quality of the finished product
  • Develop and implement design and manufacturing methods and techniques using Lean Sigma, Kanban, 5S, DFM, Poke-Yoke and lead the waste reduction efforts in the Manufacturing area.
  • Submit budget requirements for all projects and capex expenditure annually.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in a design and manufacturing environment


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience
  • Proven soft skills required for coaching/mentoring
  • Excellent analysis and decision making skills
  • Ability to manage a Design Team to include familiariation of tool such as Solid modeling, SEA analysis and FMEA.
  • Project Management experience and familiarity in root cause and corrective action methodologies
  • Performed project management responsibilities for assigned design and manufacturing changes or new product launch; including facilitating and participating in project start-up teams.
  • Ability to utilize proven lean manufacturing based analytical and troubleshooting/problem solving techniques to identify opportunities for cost reduction, lead-time reduction, inventory reduction and quality improvement through defect reduction.
  • Will be able to recommend new tools and methodologies including costing and cost estimates for new design or product process improvements.
  • Ability to evaluate existing machinery and processes to recommend improvements that enhance both operator performance and ergonomics/safety of overall production.
  • Ability to optimize floor layout, material flow, along with implementation of lean concepts; document improvements to manufacturing efficiencies, takt time, floor space utilization and overhead.
