Service Technician (Cranes)

Canning Vale, WA, AU

We are seeking an experienced Crane Mechanic/Fitter to provide technical field support, fault finding, repair and maintenance services to a range of cranes and related equipment.  This role will be based in Karratha, Western Australia and will report to the WA Service Supervisor.



Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the overall delivery of scheduled servicing and periodic inspections of plant and equipment;
    • Hydraulics;
    • Re-Builds;
    • Pneumatics;
    • Electrical;        
    • Machine Servicing.
  • Carry out on-site and field mechanical repairs and service works, some basic weld repairs and perform specific machining tasks where required;
  • Maintain effective communications from within the Service Department with all internal and external customers;
  • Complete all relevant documentation as required;
  • Supervise and instruct apprentices, trades assistants and sub-contractors in regard to the performance of maintenance tasks, if required;
  • Represent the company in its relationships with major customers;
  • Take part in training and multi-skilling.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • A proven commitment to safety;
  • Heavy Diesel mechanic or Mechanic trade qualification;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Drivers License and HR License;
  • Experience with Frannas or Demags highly desirable;
  • Previous crane mechanic experience is highly regarded or experience with heavy equipment / plant, electrics and hydraulics;
  • Self-motivation and ability to work unsupervised;
  • Ability to problem solve routine issues;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • A demonstrated customer focus.
